JMS engaged I-VTech to study and resolve the tearing phenomenon on the medical products.

Solution

I-VTech uses Autodesk Moldflow Insight software to analyze and product design the impact of the weld line on the product, mold cooling system on the product, the displacement of the core in the injection process, and more. Sequence analysis was used (FEM), fill, pack, warp and core shift. After several rounds of simulation analysis, we came to the conclusion that we can ignore the weld line, and the displacement of the core during the injection process on the injection process. However, in the product design, the cooling system has a certain impact on the tearing of the product in the production process. For the results of the analysis, we found that there are suspicious factors, and made some suggestions to their contracted manufacturer, such as add radius or chamfer at part inside and outside on weaker areas, to make the draft angle bigger on cavity pin inserts. In view of the uneven cooling of the product, we recommend strengthening the cooling system.
