Leveraging Autodesk Civil 3D Training for a Competitive Edge
AEC, Inc., a Roswell, GA firm providing planning, civil engineering, and landscape architecture services for nearly 35 years, faced a significant challenge: Keeping up with their competition. On the production side, they recognized the need to learn more about the features of Autodesk Civil 3D and how to implement them to remain competitive in the industry. “We had been looking for a few months to make the push to start training. We were feeling that, from a production-standpoint, our competition was making bigger strides than us,” said Julie Miller, Vice President at AEC, Inc. Julie is involved in production, client management, and internal CAD standards and policies.
Ensuring a Smooth Software Transition with Customized Training
AK Design Group is a hospitality interior design and FF&E procurement firm specialized in serving Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt, and IHG franchise owners. With the LT versions of AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit as their primary design tools, AKDG wanted to explore capabilities of the full versions and how they would incorporate into their current workflows. Since they already had established practices and standards, the team needed a way to customize the training to the way they worked. “We wanted to know how the software could help us more and how to make the transition easy while also continuing our workflow in our design deadlines,” said Sarah Garcia, NCIDQ, Senior Project Designer at AKDG. Sarah oversees projects from start to finish, including presentations, client relationships, coordination, and development of AKDG’s standards.
Okland Construction Finds Success in Autodesk Build
Okland Construction, a general contracting and construction management company, was evaluating software solutions for document management and preconstruction to determine if it would make sense to move away from Procore, their current solution. Having already invested in the Virtual Design and Construction Bundle in Autodesk Construction Cloud, they needed help evaluating other solutions on the platform before making the decision to completely transition from Procore.
