Success Story

Jendamark India’s Industry 4.0 Success

Jendamark India’s Industry 4.0 Success

Customer challenge

Jendamark India is an automation solution provider company and caters to the Powertrain Catalytic Converter and Electrical Vehicle segment of the Automotive Sector. The main issue was identified during the Design Approval meeting (DAP) with the customer. There was always a challenge to capture all the technical aspects of machines in single PowerPoint presentations. Moreover, not everyone could co-relate and visualize a dimension in (mm) on a drawing to practical dimension in the real world.

Project goals

Jendamark India had 4 key goals in mind: 1) To make DAP sessions more interactive for customers using some attractive and interesting Industry 4.0 tools; 2) To get feedback on different functions in a VIRTUAL environment, like safety, maintenance and production which usually only come after the machines have been built; 3) To give the real feel of the machine to customer before actual manufacturing; 4) To get manufacturing issues in advance to reduce project time and unnecessary extra costs.

Solution

Following initial consultations to review design process needs, Jendamark India has started to implement the Industry 4.0 VR ( Virtual Reality) tool as a part of design DAP process with the help of Autodesk’s Inventor, 3ds Max and 3ds Interactive Software.

Business outcome

1) All technical and ergonomic aspects of machines are feasible now in DAP through VR. 2) Customers themselves can see and feel the machines through VR glasses and controllers and give their feedback more effectively. 3) Jendamark India has improved substantially on reduction in unnecessary cost and time due to mistakes/issues in design. 4) Jendamark India has found a new business opportunity through VR solutions to customer like operator training module.

Conclusion

With the success of implementing this Industry 4.0 solution, Jendamark India has made this a mandatory part of ISO’s Design Process Flow.

Moldflow for Rapid Heating and Cooling

Varroc Polymers Pvt. Ltd. is a subsidiary of the Varroc Group and was established in 2010 to make plastic molds required for manufacturing various types of automotive components. These components such as headlamp covers, mudguards, and more are mainly used in the trimming of prototypes and subsequently mass manufactured. Nevertheless, the challenge was to identify plastic part issues before doing tooling, by making use of a complex process such as Rapid Heating and Cooling.

INITIA DESIGN STUDIO

The INITIA project involved herculean tasks on its course and required complete team dedication. It was a journey of interpreting complex final designs for vehicle surfaces, conversion of a sketch into 3D, digital prototyping for engineering and feasibility of the design, evaluation of the design post-engineering alterations, and a skilled approach towards software adaptability.

VYOM Architects use Autodesk AEC Industry Collection and BIM Collaborate Pro

VYOM (India) had the following challenges: 1) Looking for a solution which helps the Design Team to increase efficiency in design, coordination with other consultants, and provides data reports to help eliminate clashes in the initial phase of project. 2) To visualize and communicate the design intent in a more realistic environment. 3) To streamline this design and collaboration process, implement a digital platform which will increase the operational efficiency.
