TANESCO is the only Government owned National power utility services company. With a big challenge of serving under capacity and with a mega project coming - The Mwalimu Nyerere Hydropower Project which was looking for efficient design, supervision, construction, collaboration and coordination. This Project is big and unique and needed a seamless connection between consultancies, contractors, employer/TANESCO and the Government. Big projects of this nature vary at different levels and shift everything to the left which might result in a delay or failure to commission. Autodesk Architecture, Engineering and Construction Collection, an Autodesk software, was earmarked to reduce the delay because of the coordination and collaboration strength and seamless platform functionalities. Being able to connect to other design, the software Autodesk Architecture, Engineering and Construction Collection have enabled transparency and an efficient workflow throughout.

The Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) wanted to streamline the planning, designs and coordinate the project using BIM technology. Project coordination has been a challenge in big projects, so TANROADS needed to adopt BIM to facilitate planning and project execution. SAFI CONSULTANTS and ESTIM Contractors adhering to the standard and business needs made it a possibility. The Government of Tanzania through TANROADS sought to find an optimal solution using BIM technologies to get accurate schedules, base for professional Planning, Design, Visualization, and coordination and construction. SAFI CONSULTANTS and ESTIM Contractors through vast experience realized the gap in the project execution that results in poor coordination, which leads to unbearable cost variation in projects of similar nature. Thus, the Autodesk AEC Collection fulfilled the task and expectations.
