Autodesk Mayaを使用した3DCG制作事例として、フリーランス3DCGデザイナー 越智 光進 様に人物のキャラクターメイキングをゼロから解説していただきます。人体を0から制作しなくてもスキャン技術の発達により、容易にモデルのベースを制作することができる反面、中には人体を0から理解するという発想を持つアーティストが少なくなっている傾向が見受けられます。制作スピードやクオリティラインの向上に伴って、スキャン技術を活用することもありますが、本プロジェクトでは、キャラクター制作の基礎を作る上で重要となる骨や筋肉の構造を把握し、衣服のシワや装飾品の造形を理解しながらAutodesk Mayaでモデリングすることを試みました。
